Hellian Energy Services promotes and conforms to best practices that focus on proper attitudes towards injury and illness prevention for its entire workforce, sub-contractors and clients. Our Health and Safety Program starts with our Management’s commitment and involvement, and includes the company’s Safety Policies, Guiding Principles and Safety Responsibilities. We take a proactive approach to health and safety by focusing on safe operating, legislative and standard work procedures along with applicable enforcements. Emphasis is placed on a system of hazard identification and risk control that helps to prevent workplace injuries and diseases. It also incorporates an effective safety orientation for all employees that enable us to communicate the philosophy of management, safety rules and regulations, and the ways and means of developing good, productive, and safe work habits. Hellian’s Health and Safety program also utilizes effective communication systems to distribute and receive valuable feedback from employees, sub-contractors and clients. It is also our company’s policy to ensure that employee training is provided to enhance employee safety and meet regulatory training requirements. Continuous on-the-job-training is also provided through the entire period of employment for our workforce.

• Fostering a responsibility to a safety and environmental culture that comply with regulatory requirements.
• Providing mechanical and physical safeguards to the maximum extent possible.
• Training all employees in good health and safe practices.
• Ensuring constant communication of safety hazards to employees, sub-contractors and clients.
• Demonstrating safety and environmental responsibility through leadership and the provision of necessary protective equipment and instruction for its use and care.

Education and training are a vital component of accident prevention, legislation and our safety program - we will do all that is reasonably practicable to ensure all employees are competent for the task assigned.
At minimum, all employees will receive, and participate fully, in:

• Safety orientations for newly-hired personnel;
• Task and trade-specific training and certification;
• Specialized safety and related training; and
• Unit Operations Training and competency as outlined in Hellian’s Competency Handbook
• Refresher and update training.

Other Certifications and training includes: H2S Alive, First Aid, PST (Petroleum Safety Training, TDG, WHMIS, Client Specific Orientations

Hellian is taking proactive measures to respond to any incidents. We actively seek to determine factors that could lead to incidents and take the necessary actions to prevent incidents from occurring. This includes Incident and Accident Reporting, Incident and Accident Investigation and Follow-Up and providing core training and enhancing emergency response in all our areas of operation.
